A: Tv-maksuvelvollisuus syntyy siitä, että pystyy vastaanottamaan ja seuraamaan tv-lähetyksiä. Tv-maksu tulee maksaa myös 1.9.2007 jälkeen, jos taloyhtiön keskussovitin tai kaapelioperaattori muuttaa digisignaalin analogiseen muotoon. Samoin mikäli käytössä on satelliittivastaanotin tai taloudessa voi seurata ulkomaiden, esimerkiksi Ruotsin tai Viron tv-lähetyksiä, tulee tv-maksu maksaa.
Tv-maksuvelvollisuutta ei ole, jos ei pysty vastaanottamaan televisiolähetyksiä. Tv-maksun voi irtisanoa ottamalla yhteyttä Viestintävirastoon. "

A: The obligation to pay television fee is based on the possibility to receive and watch television broadcasts. You still must pay television fee even after 1 September 2007, if your apartment house has a central set-top box or the cable operator converts the digital signal into analogue. Similarly, if you have a satellite receiver or your household is able to follow foreign television broadcasts, e.g. those of Sweden or Estonia, you must pay television fee.
There is no obligation to pay television fee if you cannot receive television broadcasts. For terminating your television fee, please contact the Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority (FICORA)."
